| Candlestick Patterns PDF |
Most traders lose money on a pattern they only half remember. You spot a long lower wick and think "hammer." You buy. The candle closes weak, price slides through support, and your stop gets hit. The pattern wasn't the problem. Your memory was.
That's why a candlestick patterns PDF earns a spot on your desk. It takes the guesswork out of the few seconds before you click buy or sell. You glance at the sheet, confirm the shape, check the context, and act on a plan instead of a hunch.
A printed reference also fixes something a screen can't. It sits beside your monitor, away from your charts. It never gets buried under twelve browser tabs. Pilots run checklists. Surgeons run checklists. If you risk real money, you should too.
Below, I'll show you what's inside our free download, give you a preview of three patterns, and explain how to use the sheet next to your broker platform. Grab your copy first. Then keep reading.

What's Inside The Ultimate Candlestick Patterns PDF?
This isn't a thin one-pager with a few cartoon candles. The full candlestick patterns cheat sheet PDF runs 30 pages, and each page is built to be printed, folded, or taped above your desk.
Every pattern gets the same clean layout. You see the visual, the signal it sends, the psychology behind it, a sample entry idea, and where to place your stop-loss. Once you learn the layout, you can read any page in about ten seconds.
The price action patterns download also prints well in black and white. Ink costs money. We planned for that.
Section Breakdown: Bullish Reversals, Bearish Reversals, and Continuation Patterns
We split the guide into three parts. That way you can flip straight to the situation on your chart.
Part 1: Bullish Reversals
These patterns show sellers running out of steam near the bottom of a move. They're the ones you scan for when you want to buy a dip with a defined risk. Inside you'll find:
- Hammer and inverted hammer: a rejection of lower prices.
- Bullish engulfing: buyers take control in a single candle.
- Morning star: a three-candle turn after a slide.
- Piercing line and tweezer bottom: quieter, but useful at support.
- Three white soldiers: steady buying pressure over three sessions.
Part 2: Bearish Reversals
Same idea, flipped. These warn you that buyers are tiring near the top. Use them to protect profits, tighten a stop, or look for shorts. You'll get:
- Shooting star and hanging man: long wicks that signal rejection.
- Bearish engulfing: sellers overwhelm the last green candle.
- Evening star: the mirror of the morning star.
- Dark cloud cover and tweezer top: subtle shifts at resistance.
- Three black crows: three straight bearish sessions.
Part 3: Continuation Patterns
Not every candle means "turn around." Sometimes the trend simply pauses and then keeps going. This part teaches you to tell a pause from a reversal, which saves you from exiting good trades too early. It covers rising and falling three methods, inside bars, marubozu candles, and the doji inside a trend.
Every section works as a bullish and bearish candlestick PDF reference in one file. You never need to hunt through five different websites again.
You also get a one-page master chart with every pattern side by side, plus a short pre-trade checklist. Tape that page to your wall and you're set.
A Sneak Peek: 3 Patterns You'll Master Today
Here's a look at page one of the guide. It's a quick-glance layout that shows the shape, the bias, and the one-line rule for each pattern. The doji is your warm-up. The other three are the ones we'll unpack right now.
1. The Hammer
Sellers shove price down. Buyers shove it right back. The candle closes near its high and leaves a long lower wick behind. That wick is a footprint. It shows where demand stepped in.
A hammer matters most after a decline and near support. Anywhere else, it's just a candle. Wait for the next bar to close above the hammer's high before you commit.
2. The Bullish Engulfing
Two candles. A small red one, then a larger green one whose body covers the red body completely. Control just changed hands, and you can see it.
The bigger the green candle compared to the red one, the stronger the message. A common approach is to place your stop below the engulfing candle's low.
3. The Shooting Star
Think of the hammer flipped upside down. Buyers spike price higher, then sellers slam it back to the open. You get a small body near the low and a long upper wick.
After an uptrend, it warns that buyers are running low on energy. Near resistance, that warning gets louder. The PDF shows you exactly how to mark the stop above the wick.
Trading From Memory vs. Trading With a Cheat Sheet
You might feel like you already know these patterns. Maybe you do. But knowing a pattern on a quiet Sunday and spotting it during a fast session are two different skills. Here's how the two approaches compare in practice.
A cheat sheet won't make a bad setup good. It will stop you from making avoidable errors. For most beginners, that alone changes the equity curve.

How to Use This Cheat Sheet Alongside Your Broker Platform
You don't need a fancy setup. A printed page, a pen, and your usual charting screen are plenty. Whether you trade on TradingView, thinkorswim, MetaTrader, or your broker's own app, the routine stays the same.
- Print it and place it where you can see it. Put the master page beside your monitor. Keep the detailed pages in a folder within reach.
- Start on a higher timeframe. Check the daily chart first. Find the trend and mark support and resistance. Patterns near those levels carry more weight than patterns floating in the middle of nowhere.
- Zoom in and look for a candidate. When a candle looks familiar on your 1-hour or 15-minute chart, find it on the sheet. Match the shape, not just the vibe.
- Check the context. A hammer in an uptrend is not a hammer signal. The sheet tells you where each pattern belongs.
- Wait for the candle to close. Half-formed candles lie. Many "shooting stars" turn into ordinary green bars by the close.
- Set your stop before you enter. Use the placement rule on the pattern page. Then size your position so a loss stays small.
- Mark the trade on your sheet. Write the date and the outcome next to the pattern. After a month, you'll see which setups suit your style.
That last step is the one most people skip. Don't. Your own notes teach you more than any guru video.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this candlestick patterns PDF suitable for crypto, stocks, or forex?
Yes. It works for all three. A candlestick simply records four prices: open, high, low, and close. Those prices come from people buying and selling, and human behavior looks similar in every market.
Each market does have quirks, though, and the guide points them out:
- Stocks: Price often gaps at the open. Gaps can change how an engulfing pattern looks, so the sheet shows you how to read them.
- Forex: The market runs 24 hours a day, five days a week, and gaps are rare. Patterns on the 1-hour and 4-hour charts tend to look cleaner.
- Crypto: It trades around the clock and moves fast. Wicks are longer, so give your stops more room.
Is the download really free?
Yes. Tap the button, and you'll get instant access to the file. No trading account is needed to read it.
Which timeframe works best with these patterns?
Every timeframe shows candlestick patterns. Longer ones, like the daily and 4-hour charts, produce fewer signals but usually cleaner ones. Shorter charts give you more setups and more noise. Beginners often do better starting on the daily chart.
Do candlestick patterns guarantee a win?
No, and anyone who says otherwise is selling something. Patterns show probabilities, not promises. That's why the guide stresses confirmation, location, and risk control on every page.
Can I print it?
Absolutely. The layout is designed for standard US Letter paper and looks sharp in black and white or color.
